Marquis Teague

MARQUIS TEAGUE

Teague follows Brandon Knight and John Wall in the line of No. 1 point guards coming to Kentucky. While not yet as refined as those two, the Indianapolis native is an explosive guard who can seemingly create scoring situations at will and continues to drastically improve from season to season.

QUOTES

Former Pike High School coach Phil Spoljaric on Teague (to ESPN.com): “He has a different gear than a lot of guys, which makes him extremely tough to defend in transition. He can play above the rim. For a guard, he’ll shock you sometimes.”
ESPN analyst Paul Biancardi on Teague: “What makes Teague a special talent is his ability to get to the rim and finish. He’s terrific in transition, and when he is in a one-on-one matchup, it’s impossible for someone at the high school level to defend him alone.”
Teague on Teague (to Indianapolis Star): “It’s real exciting to know you’re going to play for a team that could possibly win a national championship. It’s real exciting. It’s mind blowing.”
