Twany Beckham



Beckham was a standout player at Ballard High School, committed at one point to IUPUI, spent a year at prep school in New Hampshire, two-plus seasons at Mississippi State and will now join UK’s program as a preferred walk-on. Beckham can play both guard positions and describes himself as a “pass-first” guard. Due to transfer rules, he will not be eligible to play until the spring semester of the 2011-12 season.

March 24, 2007: Beckham’s high school career at Ballard ends with a loss in the Sweet Sixteen title game to Scott County and tournament MVP Bud Mackey.
April 17, 2008: Beckham signs with Mississippi State.

2008-09 season: Beckham averages 1.6 points and 1.5 rebounds in his freshman season at Mississippi State.
2009-10 season: Beckham sits out the entire season and gets a medical redshirt after having surgery to remove bone spurs on both hips.
