Class of 2014 point guard Emmanuel Mudiay told The Cats’ Pause on Tuesday that he has received a scholarship offer from Kentucky, reiterating what he said to Five-Star Basketball back in June.
If true, that means John Calipari has already offered two point guards in 2014. And they could end up being the best two players in their class.
Scout.com released its new 2014 rankings Tuesday morning and (shocker!) Andrew Wiggins was No. 1. The top UK target was immediately followed by Jones and Mudiay. Assuming Wiggins heads to the class of 2013 (an assumption held by many), that would make the point guard duo the top two recruits on Scout’s board.
You can dream of another Wall/Bledsoe combo in Lexington, though it’s unlikely the Cats will get both Jones and Mudiay. But adding one would be an important building block in what could be another No. 1 recruiting class.
So which player would be the best fit for UK? Here’s a side-by-side comparison.

| 6-1 | Height | 6-4 |
| 170 | Weight | 190 |

Emmanuel Mudiay is the best choice…big and strong quick as a cat…
Give me Tyus Jones I really don’t know why but I just feel he is better and can lead to his us to #10
If were talking about point guards nobody runs a team better than Mr. Jones. Also, his basketball IQ is off the charts, and he can take over a game whenever he desires. Still the best high school passer I have ever seen and that was when I saw him play varsity in 8th grade. It is truly scary how much better he has gotten since then. Maybe I should just let Dave Telep, ESPN’s Senior Recruiting Analyst, speak “He’s best pg in MN since Khalid El-Amin…might be the purest floor general in h.s. hoops since Chris Paul in ’03.” Check out these highlights from this year’s Peach Jam.
