The Indy Star reported Thursday night that Indiana point guard Demetrius Jackson is planning to use one of his five official visits on a trip to UK. As he result, he gets a spot on the 2013 watch list.
UK’s interest in Jackson was first reported last month by Scout.com. At the time, the seriousness of the interest was unclear. Now, it seems UK is firmly in Jackson’s top five alongside Notre Dame, Illinois, Louisville and Kansas.
The athletic guard (check out the above video) had one of the best summers on the circuit. He jumped to five-star status on the Scout and ESPN lists, and is now considered one of the four or five best point guards in the class. It’s hard to see him at Kentucky if the Cats land the Harrison twins, but stranger things have happened.
Scout.com’s Evan Daniels told the Herald-Leader earlier this month that he thinks Jackson will take his time with a college decision.
“Kentucky has reached out and they’ve begun the process,” he said. ” He’s not in any kind of hurry to make a decision. I think he’s going to sit down and look at where he wants to visit and go from there.”
