The football Cats didn’t have a very good Sunday, and one of the top basketball recruits in the class of 2014 was there to see it.

Indiana native JaQuan Lyle attended the UK-Louisville football game as part of his unofficial weekend visit to U of L. At one point, he tweeted a photo from his (very good) seats at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium.

He also made an announcement during the game. He’ll be visiting UK for the program’s Alumni Game on Sept. 15.

“Going (to) UK on the 15th,” Lyle tweeted. He later confirmed to a follower that the tweet meant he would be in Lexington for the charity game.

Lyle is a 6-foot-4 point guard who is also looking at Indiana, Texas, Ohio State, Purdue, Illinois and a host of others. Scout.com rates him as the No. 15 player and No. 3 point guard in the class.

Big Blue Madness has typically been the fall event of choice for basketball recruits, but this month’s Alumni Game is shaping up to be a drawing card. 2013 star Julius Randle also has said he’ll be in Lexington for that weekend. With nearly two weeks until the big day, the guest list could grow even more.
