Tennessee coach Cuonzo Martin scored a huge recruiting victory with the commitment of five-star shooting guard Robert Hubbs on Monday.
Martin might have also taken an option away from Kentucky
According to the Clarksville Leaf Chronicle, Hubbs was scheduled to host UK coaches for an in-home visit later this week.
But after a trip to Tennessee over the weekend, Hubbs picked the Vols and cancelled planned visits with UK, UCLA and Vanderbilt.
Robert Hubbs Sr. told the Leaf Chronicle that when his son informed him of his decision, the father specifically reminded him that he hadn’t met with Kentucky yet.
“Dad, I love Tennessee,” his son replied.
Rivals.com ranks Hubbs as the No. 12 overall player in the class of 2013.
He was only Tennessee’s first commitment of the day. The Vols later added 2013 forward A.J. Davis, the son of former NBA player Antonio Davis.

Good luck to hubbs except when Tenn. plays KY. He would have been a great back up plan if it doesnt work out with the Harrison twins. Easy come easy go.
No lose hear this was one of Kenny Panyne’s guys he would never have gotten an offer. He was always gonna go to school in Tenn is he qualifies at all. Mizz was the only other school that was even considered seriously till this point. He is defiantly not a back up option to the Twins and that is not Kenny’s job to find a contingency plan for the Harrisons. Besides I think if Roberson gets an offer tomorrow. Cal has serious doubts in the twins himself because of James Young and the fact nothing is official with Wiggins.( yet )I have already written about the twins ad nasium on 24/7 KI, but this is what most that I talk to believe even heard Randle on Saturday being told on Saturday during the game at one point Coach O turned to him as A Davis was running point and said jokingly that could a ” point forward ” all that wear within an earshot that heard this laughed. I even turned to see if the players over heard they were about twelve rows up but it was not loud at all. There was no remark from any current players but Randle and his mother got a kick out of it as if it was some inside joke. Saying all that to say feeling less and less that the TWINS are as much of a lock as I once did and I have felt that way since watching Andrew act like he was in Disneyland during BBM last year. Scoring no problem next year but missing on Andrew would HURT ….
