The slate of games for this year’s Marshall County Hoop Fest is nearly finalized, and it’s shaping up as a showcase for some of John Calipari’s biggest recruiting targets.

UK recruits scheduled to participate in the two-day event include the Harrison twins, Andrew Wiggins, Derek Willis and Cliff Alexander. Several other top prospects, including Louisville commitment Quentin Snider, will also play. The games will be held Nov. 30-Dec. 1 at Marshall County High School.

Wiggins and the Harrison twins will play on both nights.

On Friday, Wiggins and Huntington Prep will face Memphis East and Nick King, a Memphis commitment who is ranked No. 19 in the class of 2013 by That game will be followed by a matchup between perennial powerhouse Oak Hill Academy and Chicago’s Curie High, which is led by Alexander, a five-star center and one of Calipari’s biggest 2014 targets.

Friday’s lineup will close with a matchup of two of the best point guards in the country — UK recruit Andrew Harrison and Louisville commitment Quentin Snider. Harrison and his brother Aaron are both top-five prospects in the class of 2013 and are expected to choose between Kentucky and Maryland sometime next month. Snider is one of the top point guards in the class of 2014 and is ranked No. 25 overall by

Willis, UK’s only commitment for 2013, will lead Bullitt East against Hopkinsville on Saturday. That night’s session includes the Harrison twins versus 11th Region contender Madison Central; Oak Hill versus Southwind (2013 stars Johnathan Williams and Jajuan Johnson); and a matchup of Wiggins and 2013 five-star Austin Nichols of Briarcrest Christian.

Advance tickets are on sale for $25 for all three sessions. Individual sessions will be sold for $10 if still available. Tickets can be purchased at the Marshall County athletic office. For more information, contact Jeff Stokes at 270-527-6714 or

  1. It should be interesting how the crowd will greet the twins and we all know what that depends upon and who knows maybe we will know something about what Wiggins is going to do by then.

  2. UK could have as many as 8 players go to the NBA or graduate next year. There is lots of room for 2013 players. According to the LH list of potential recruits, UK is pursuing 10 recruits for next year counting Willis.
