UK recruit Julius Randle, left, posed with Drake after the Alumni Game in Rupp Arena last month.

John Calipari will have another impressive guest list for Big Blue Madness on Friday, but (arguably) the two best players in high school basketball won’t be there.

Julius Randle has already used an official visit for a trip to Lexington, but buzz began circulating Monday that the Texas native might return to town for Madness.

Randle’s mother, Caroline Kyles, told the Herald-Leader on Tuesday that Randle won’t be attending the event. But the good news for UK is that Randle won’t be at any school’s midnight madness.

Kyles said Randle’s homecoming dance is this weekend, and the senior forward wanted to make sure he was there.

Randle took an official visit to Florida last weekend. He’s also considering Texas, Kansas, Oklahoma and N.C. State.

Andrew Wiggins had previously planned to attend Big Blue Madness, but he won’t be in Lexington either. Wiggins, who is still deciding whether or not to reclassify to 2013, will instead head home to Canada for a three-day weekend.

The Huntington Prep star told Scout.com’s Evan Daniels that he would likely attend a UK home game early in the season. Wiggins, who was at last year’s Big Blue Madness, has Kentucky and Florida State at the top of his list.

Recruits expected to be in town for Madness include Andrew Harrison, Aaron Harrison, Derek Willis, Marcus Lee, Cliff Alexander and JaQuan Lyle.
