A photo of James Young, the Harrison twins, Marcus Lee and Derek Willis was posted Sunday night by Lee, the only uncommitted senior to visit Big Blue Madness over the weekend.

Is the fifth member of Kentucky’s 2013 recruiting class about to be revealed?

If a Sunday night Tweet from Marcus Lee is any indication, an announcement could be right around the corner.

The California big man posted a photo of himself with the four current members of UK’s 2013 class: Andrew and Aaron Harrison, James Young and Derek Willis. Along with the photo, Lee added the following observation: “That’s just scary.”

Adding Lee to what UK already has coming next year would indeed be frightening for the Cats’ rivals. The 6-foot-9 forward is rated as high as No. 9 in the class (by 24/7 Sports) and analysts everywhere seem to be on the same page regarding his unlimited potential.

“From a talent standpoint, he has tremendous upside,” analyst Evan Daniels told the Herald-Leader last week. “He’s really improved over the past year and a half. He’s a very good run-and-jump athlete. He runs the floor extremely well. He contests shots. He’s a willing rebounder.

“He’s still going to have to develop his post moves and fine-tune some things on the offensive end, but he’s loaded with talent.”

Lee visited Lexington for Big Blue Madness over the weekend, his first trip to Kentucky. He has narrowed his list to UK and California, and was expected to make a decision within a week or two of the madness visit.

Lee also tweeted a photo Sunday night of a practice inside the Joe Craft Center, which he called “perfect.” He could be one of the players working out there this time next year.

  1. This in itself would be an awesome class but add the possible players Randle and/or Wiggins to this group then you could be looking at the best recruiting class ever the only other class close to this one would of course be the Fab Five. GO CATS

  2. Even if we only add Lee, this will probably be the highest rated recruiting class of all time.

    3 top 5 recruits
    1 top 15 recruit
    1 top 100 recruit

5 top 100 recruits with 3 of those being top 5. No class has ever had 3 top 5 recruits before. Some sites have young at 6 or 7 so I guess that’s up for argument, but I’m not sure if even 3 top 7 recruits have ever happened.

By the way, last years class had the national player of the year and won a title. Fab Five didn’t do that either.
