The best player in the class of 2015 will be off the board in less than three weeks.
Karl Towns will announce his college decision Dec. 4, St. Joseph’s High athletic director Jerry Smith told the Herald-Leader on Wednesday. The event, which will take place at the school, will be televised live on the MSG network.
Towns, a 6-foot-11 center from New Jersey, was a member of John Calipari’s Dominican Republic national team that attempted to qualify for the Olympics this past summer. As part of that experience, Towns worked out at UK’s facilities and got a chance to play against the U.S. national team, which went on to win a gold medal.
Towns, ranked No. 1 in his class by every major service, has also shown interest in Duke, Florida, Michigan State and North Carolina, among others.
