UK signee Andrew Harrison is expected to miss Thursday night’s game on national TV after sustaining a hamstring injury over the weekend.
“Doubt he will play this week,” Travis High Coach Craig Brownson told the Herald-Leader when asked about Harrison’s status Monday.
The future UK point guard suffered the injury Friday against Terry High during the Outback Tournament in Sugar Land, Texas. The misfortune came a day after Harrison recorded a triple-double (10 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists) in a win over Willowridge. Without Harrison on Saturday, Travis High defeated Westfield — on a last-second three-pointer by Aaron Harrison — before losing to Bush in the finals.
Brownson said Andrew Harrison had a doctor’s visit scheduled for Monday.
Thursday’s game, which will air at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN, pits Travis High against Archbishop Mitty. Even if Andrew can’t play, UK fans will still be able to see Aaron, also a UK signee, and Mitty forward Aaron Gordon, one of the top 10 seniors in the country and a major UK recruiting target.
