Dominique Hawkins will not hear from Kentucky about a scholarship offer Friday, as was originally expected.

The Madison Central senior guard and Sweet Sixteen MVP has been waiting on a UK offer before going forward with the recruiting process. Coach John Calipari visited Hawkins in Richmond on Tuesday and more information about a scholarship offer was expected to come Friday.

But the wait will continue.

“Nothing will be done until Dominique gets back from Florida on spring break,” Madison Central Coach Allen Feldhaus Jr. told the Herald-Leader.

The school’s spring break runs April 1-5.

Hawkins is one of five finalists for Mr. Basketball honors, which will be announced Friday night in Louisville.

The 6-foot-1 combo guard has scholarship offers from Purdue, South Carolina, Morehead State, Western Kentucky and others.
