Highly touted 2014 forward Jalen Lindsey announced via Twitter on Thursday night that he will transfer to Huntington Prep (W.Va.) for his senior season.

Lindsey does not have a scholarship offer from Kentucky, but UK assistant Orlando Antigua has visited in recent months and the 6-foot-6 small forward remains on the Cats’ radar.

He played last season for Christ Presbyterian Academy in Nashville. That school is coached by former Vanderbilt player Drew Maddux. Ex-UK star Ron Mercer — also from Nashville — has acted as a mentor of sorts for Lindsey.

Other schools on Lindsey’s list include North Carolina, Louisville, Florida, Providence, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, N.C. State, Auburn, Ohio State and Mississippi State.

Scout.com ranks Lindsey as the No. 25 overall player in the class of 2014.
