Three-star DB Jared Tucker commits to Kentucky

UK football coach Mark Stoops picked up another commitment for the class of 2014 on Wednesday.

Jared Tucker, a three-star defensive back from Stone Mountain, Ga., became the ninth player from 2014 to give his pledge to Stoops and the Wildcats. ranks Tucker as the No. 44 safety in the class and the No. 41 prospect in the state of Georgia. and 24/7 Sports also have Tucker ranked as a three-star prospect.

Tucker, a 5-foot-11, 160-pounder also had offers from Miami, Ohio State, Florida, Tennessee, South Carolina, Louisville and several other major programs.

With the addition of Tucker, moved Kentucky to No. 10 in the team rankings for 2014. The Cats are rated higher than such blue-blood football programs as Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Oklahoma and Virginia Tech.

Tucker is only the third commitment in UK’s class from a state other than Ohio. He’s the first defensive back to commit to the Cats for 2014.

  1. Coach Stoops is doing a great job of bring good talent to Ky, I’m really looking forward to football season with the expectation of a well coached team even if we don’t have the talent level to win just yet.

  2. Wow no.10 in the country WOW! Its very early, but when was the last time UK has ever been this highly rated in recruiting. Here is the problem for the Kentucky fans…if Stoops continues to recruit like this and starts to win who will be the new coach?
