Kentucky and Louisville are among more than two dozen schools still in the running to land star center Myles Turner.
Turner — a 7-footer from Texas — has skyrocketed in the class of 2014 rankings after a strong showing on the spring and summer circuit. He tweeted Wednesday that he had trimmed his list to 25 schools. He told ESPN’s Reggie Rankin that he is actually still considering 26 schools.
The full list: Arizona, Arkansas, Baylor, Connecticut, Duke, Georgetown, Indiana, Kansas, Kansas State, Kentucky, Louisville, Marquette, Miami, North Carolina, N.C. State, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Oregon, SMU, Stanford, Texas, Texas A&M, UT-Arlington, UCLA, UNLV.
Turner is one of six players in the class of 2014 who is ranked in the top 10 by Scout.com, Rivals.com, ESPN and 24/7 Sports. He is the only prospect in that group without a UK scholarship offer. The Texan has been in contact with John Calipari over the last couple of weeks and the UK coach is expected to evaluate Turner throughout the rest of the summer recruiting period.
Turner has said that he will cut his list again — to 10 or 12 schools — at the end of the month.
