Four-star wide receiver Braxton Berrios added a scholarship offer from Ohio State during an on-campus visit Friday night.
Berrios — a native of Raleigh, N.C. — is one of Kentucky’s top recruiting targets in the class of 2014. Rivals considers him the No. 39 receiver in the class and the No. 13 overall prospect in the state of North Carolina.
The 5-foot-9, 180-pounder was in Columbus for OSU’s Friday Night Lights camp. He attended a similar camp at UK last weekend along with some of the Cats’ top commitments and targets for 2014. He began a visit to West Virginia on Saturday.
Before the Ohio State offer, Berrios was listing UK, Miami, West Virginia, South Carolina, Tennessee and Clemson as his top six schools. The 24/7 Sports Crystal Ball has Miami leading for Berrios with 57 percent of analysts predicting he’ll commit to the Hurricanes. UK is next with 32 percent.
USA Today recently profiled Berrios in a story that included the headline, “Is recruit Braxton Berrios the next Wes Welker?”
Berrios is expected to make a college decision sometime this fall.
