Texas point guard Emmanuel Mudiay narrowed his list to five schools before ESPNU’s broadcast of the Adidas Nations finals Monday night.

An ESPN graphic showed that Mudiay was considering Kentucky, Kansas, Oklahoma State, SMU and Baylor. ESPN analyst Paul Biancardi later tweeted that the five-star prospect had narrowed his list to those schools earlier in the day.

Mudiay had been considering several other schools, including Arizona, St. John’s and Texas. He is planning to attend Big Blue Madness in October.

The 6-foot-4 point guard from Arlington, Texas is ranked as a top-five overall prospect in the class of 2014 by all of the major recruiting services.

  1. Mudiay will get to play with Malik Newman this coming season b/c Newman announced that he will be attending Prime Prep for his final 2 years of eligibility. This move by Newman may finally put to rest the concern of many that Prime Prep has academic problems concerning the eligibility of it’s student athletes in NCAA sports.

  2. The guy who started the Malik Newman to Prime Prep story said Tuesday that it was a joke. https://twitter.com/MGRADS/status/364610326131507201

  3. If Mudlay comes to UK, Jones probably will not and vise-versa. If Jones does not come, Okafor will not come. Could it be either Jones and Okafor or Mudlay and Turner? Once Jones and Okafor decide, my guess is that the decisions will fall in place rather quickly. It would be great if Johnson, Lyles and Vaughn would pick UK very quickly; however, if Lyles picks UK, it is unlikely that UK will get another big besides Towns. Exum looks like an interesting possibility who can play either the 1, 2 or 3.
