Class of 2014 shooting guard Devin Booker announced Sunday night that he will take his official visit to Kentucky on Sept. 9.
That’s the same night of the UK Alumni Game in Rupp Arena featuring former Wildcats from the 2010 and 2012 teams. Top 2014 recruit Jahlil Okafor will also use his official visit to UK for that night.
Booker narrowed his list to five schools earlier this month. He said Sunday that he will also take official visits to Michigan State (Sept. 6), Michigan (Oct. 5) and Missouri (Oct. 19). He has not yet scheduled an official visit to Florida, his other finalist.
Kentucky offered Booker a scholarship in April after John Calipari visited the 6-foot-4 prospect at his high school in Mississippi. Booker grew up in Michigan and his mother still lives in that state. He has already taken several unofficial visits to both Michigan schools on his list. His father was a standout basketball player for Missouri in the 1990s.
Kentucky is the only school on Booker’s list that he has not yet visited. His high school team is scheduled to play in the Marshall County Hoop Fest in Benton, Ky., in December.
ESPN ranks Booker as the No. 16 overall prospect in the Class of 2014.
