The Kentucky football team could be on the verge of adding another big commitment to its recruiting class of 2014.

Four-star wide receiver Blake Bone is planning to announce his college decision Tuesday at noon 11:15 a.m. His final list includes UK, South Carolina, Ole Miss, Louisville and Georgia Tech.

Kentucky is widely seen as the favorite to land the South Carolina native.

“That would be my prediction,” Rivals.com analyst Woody Wommack told the Herald-Leader on Monday night. “I don’t have a magic eight ball or anything, but I would say it’ll be Kentucky.”

Bone would be a big addition for the Wildcats. The new coaching staff has had recent success recruiting wide receivers, but 6-foot-2 freshman Alex Montgomery is the tallest one they’ve landed so far. Thaddeus Snodgrass, at 6-1, is the tallest of UK’s three wide receiver commitments for 2014.

Bone is 6-5 and considered by Rivals to be the No. 47 overall receiver in the class. He’s the No. 8 prospect from South Carolina and holds scholarship offers from several BCS programs.

“He’s got the one thing that a lot of wide receivers don’t have, which is that size,” Wommack said. “When you have a guy like that, obviously that’s what the quarterbacks want. To be able to have a weapon where they can just throw it up and hope that he goes up and gets it.”

UK already has seven four-star commitments in the Class of 2014, according to the Rivals rankings. Bone would make No. 8 for a school that has had no more than three four-star recruits in any class dating back to 2002. The Cats also remain in the mix for in-state defensive tackle Matt Elam and several other four-star prospects.

Rivals.com ranks UK with the No. 7 recruiting class in the country heading into Bone’s announcement Tuesday.

“They’re recruiting nationally right now,” Wommack said. “And to get a player like (Bone) would be a very big get for them.”
