New Orleans point guard Dominic Magee announced Sunday morning that he has committed to the University of Memphis.
Magee popped up on UK’s radar last month after top point guard target Emmanuel Mudiay committed to Southern Methodist. UK assistant Kenny Payne was in contact with Magee’s coaches and family, but the 6-foot-3 prospect never received a scholarship offer from Kentucky.
He was also considering Oklahoma State, LSU and Kansas State.
247Sports ranks Magee as the No. 66 overall prospect in the Class of 2014. He’s No. 71 overall in both the Rivals.com and ESPN rankings.
UK has offered two point guards from the class — Minnesota’s Tyus Jones and Illinois’ Tyler Ulis.
Ulis will arrive on UK’s campus today for his official visit and stay through Monday night’s Alumni Game. Jones will be in town for an official visit later this month.
