Kansas has long been seen as the favorite in the recruitment of five-star small forward Kelly Oubre.
Kentucky looks like the main competition.
As of now, UK and Kansas are the only two schools that have secured official-visit plans from Oubre. He’ll go to Lawrence on Oct. 4 and Lexington on Oct. 18 — each school’s midnight madness.
John Calipari visited with Oubre on Friday, and Kansas was there earlier last week. 247Sports ranks Oubre — who will play his senior season at Findlay Prep (Nev.) — as the No. 4 overall prospect in the class of 2014.
On Monday night, a couple of CBS Sports analysts called it a two-school race, and both like UK’s chances:
Kentucky and Kansas are currently the top two schools for 2014 SG Kelly Oubre, per multiple sources. The Wildcats currently lead.

Sounding more and more like a two-horse race between Kentucky and Kansas for Kelly Oubre. At this moment, I might lean toward Kentucky.
