UK ranked No. 2 in Blue Ribbon pre-season guide

Kentucky will be ranked second in the nation in this year’s Blue Ribbon College Basketball Yearbook.

The top spot goes to Michigan State.

Chris Dortch — editor of the popular Blue Ribbon guide — tweeted out the Top 25 on Monday.

The Spartans and Wildcats topped the list, with Louisville, Duke and Arizona rounding out the top five. The rest of the Top 25 looks like this: 6. Kansas, 7. Florida, 8. Syracuse, 9. Michigan, 10. North Carolina, 11. Ohio State, 12. Oklahoma State, 13. Wichita State, 14. Gonzaga, 15. UConn, 16. Marquette, 17. Memphis, 18. VCU, 19. Notre Dame 20. Tennessee, 21. Creighton, 22. Baylor, 23. Colorado, 24. Iowa, 25. New Mexico.

Kentucky will play Michigan State on Nov. 12 in Chicago.

This year’s Blue Ribbon College Basketball Yearbook is available for pre-order. It is expected to be released in mid-October.

  1. Any of the first six could win it all – it all depends on how well the coaches get the players to click together. UK and KU will have freshman dominated teams; UL and MSU will have more experienced teams. AZ and Duke will have balanced teams with important freshmen. It should be a great season that is fun to watch.
