UK basketball target Trey Lyles has something to say Monday …

Lyles — a 6-foot-9 power forward from Indianapolis — is one of UK’s top targets in the Class of 2014. The five-star prospect is also considering Louisville, Florida and Butler.

Lyles’ father told ZagsBlog that his son will not announce his college decision Monday. One possibility is an announcement of the date that he plans to reveal that decision.

Louisville hosted Lyles for an official visit last month. He’ll take his official visit to UK next month for Big Blue Madness.

  1. Hey Ben, if Lyles announces he’ll be making his decision in the next couple of weeks, do you think that means he is headed to Louisville?

  2. I still like Kentucky as the favorite. He’s still definitely coming to Big Blue Madness, and he’s taken several unofficial visits to UK. Guessing he’ll announce later this fall, after BBM.

  3. I am hoping UK gets Lyles (4), Turner (4-5), Oubre (3), Booker (2) and Johnson (2-3) to go with Towns (4-5) and Ulis (1). Of course, Exum (1-2) would be a great bonus. Ulis would not need to score, just set up the others and make the opponents point wish for the game to be over. It would not be a surprise to see 8 UK players taken in the first round of the 2014 NBA draft with Randle, not Wiggins, the first selection. This means that UK would only have two scholarship players returning.

  4. I hope we get lyles, turner, booker, Blackmon jr, Johnson, and oubre

  5. With Lyles cutting his list down to UK-UL I believe he and Blackmon will play college ball together at UK. With Lyles,Blackmon and Johnson going to BBM together I believe there could be 3 commits to UK within a very short time after BBM visit.
