UK’s first commitment from the Class of 2014 got a visit from two of his past and future coaches Friday night.

New Jersey center Karl Towns Jr. posted a photo of himself with UK Coach John Calipari and UK assistant Orlando Antigua, who had an in-home visit with the star recruit. Calipari and Antigua both coached Towns with the Dominican Republic national team over the past two summers.

Calipari and Antigua spent much of the week on the West Coast. They visited 2015 prospects Ivan Rabb and Tyler Dorsey on Wednesday, then saw Mater Dei teammates Stanley Johnson and Michael Cage Jr. on Thursday. All of those recruits are from California.

Towns committed to Kentucky last year and will be eligible to sign with the Wildcats in November. He was listed as the No. 6 overall prospect in the senior class in the new ESPN rankings released Thursday.

  1. I love this kid! He is all about Kentucky and will end up being a BBN favorite. I’m really looking forward to seeing this kid suit up for us. I feel confident we will surround him with the talent required to clip some nets. GO BIG BLUE!

  2. He’s ahead of the curve when it comes to class and maturity.
