Kentucky fans are no strangers to the hoopla that surrounds Andrew Wiggins.
Wiggins — after flirting with Kentucky and a couple of other schools — is now a freshman at Kansas and considered by some to be the best player in college basketball.
Oklahoma State Coach — and UK alum — Travis Ford sounds like he’s had his fill of the hype.
Ford spoke at Oklahoma State’s Media Day on Monday about Wiggins and the rival Jayhawks’ chances of winning the Big 12 again this season.
“Kansas is still the favorite,” Ford said. “Wiggins is, from what I understand, the best player to ever play. I’ve seen him play and he’s really good. They’re still the No. 1 team and should be.
“They’ve got tons of talent, they’ve got depth, they’ve got the best player to ever play at Kansas and that’s a pretty good deal.”
Oklahoma State travels to Lawrence to face the Jayhawks on Jan. 18. The two schools are co-favorites to win the Big 12 this season, according to the pre-season coaches’ poll.
