ESPN has released its “high school basketball showcase” schedule for the upcoming season, and several UK recruits will be playing on national television.
The first of 12 games announced Friday will feature uncommitted five-star prospect Myles Turner and Trinity High (Texas) against Homeschool Christian Youth (Texas), which is led by North Carolina commitment Justin Jackson. That game will be played Dec. 5 on ESPNU.
UK signee Trey Lyles will lead his Arsenal Tech (Ind.) squad against national powerhouse Huntington Prep on Dec. 19 in a game that will be shown on ESPN. Huntington Prep’s roster includes small forward Montaque Gill-Caesar, a UK recruit who is considering a move to the Class of 2014.
Other games of interest will feature 2015 center Stephen Zimmerman vs. 2015 forward Carlton Bragg (Jan. 3), 2014 forward Stanley Johnson (Jan. 20) and 2014 forward Jonah Bolden (Jan. 20). Former UK recruits Tyus Jones, Jahlil Okafor, Cliff Alexander, Rashad Vaughn, Kelly Oubre, Craig Victor and several others will also play on ESPN this season.
