FRANKFORT — Nationally ranked Huntington Prep used another balanced scoring effort for a 133-56 victory over Ezell-Harding (Tenn.) at Frankfort High School on Sunday.
UK recruiting target Montaque Gill-Caesar scored 15 points despite playing less than half the game. Huntington Prep led 16-0 before Ezell-Harding finally got on the scoreboard. By that time, junior power forward Thomas Bryant already had seven points — five on free throws. The UK recruit finished with 12 points in limited minutes.
An assistant coach from Michigan State was there to see Gill-Caesar play. UK assistant coach Orlando Antigua watched him Saturday night in Hazard.
Gill-Caesar — a 6-foot-6 small forward — made three three-pointers and had two dunks on alley-oop passes from teammate JaQuan Lyle.
Lyle led the Express with 19 points going into the third quarter, when Huntington Prep played all reserves. An assistant coach from Oregon was there to see Lyle, who decommitted from Louisville in September and is among the top available recruits in the Class of 2014.
Huntington Prep (5-0) will return to Kentucky for two games at the Marshall County Hoop Fest in Benton on Dec. 6-7.
