Tweet watch: Snodgrass ‘signs’ with Kentucky

UK football commitment Thaddeus Snodgrass tweeted a picture of his signed financial aid papers Wednesday night, declaring himself an “official” Wildcat.

Snodgrass — a four-star wide receiver from Ohio — is planning to enroll at UK in January, like many of his fellow 2014 commitments. A new NCAA rule established this year allows mid-season enrollees to sign financial aid papers with their school, which binds the school to the player but does not bind the player to the school. In other words, a player who “signs early” would still be free to choose another school.

Mid-season enrollees still must wait until February to sign their binding National Letter of Intent.

NCAA compliance expert John Infante explains the new rule best right here.
