UK recruit Montaque Gill-Caesar scored 56 points and grabbed nine rebounds in Huntington Prep’s victory over Miami Valley (Ohio) on Saturday night.

Coach Ron Fulford told the Herald-Leader that Gill-Caesar made 11 of 20 three-point attempts. Fulford also confirmed that Michigan State Coach Tom Izzo was there to see the Class of 2015 recruit.

Gill-Caesar is considered a five-star prospect and is contemplating a move to the Class of 2014, which would make him one of UK’s biggest immediate recruiting targets. He’s also being pursued by Michigan State, Kansas, Ohio State, West Virginia and several other top schools.

UK assistant coach Orlando Antigua watched Gill-Caesar play in Hazard earlier this month, and the 6-foot-6 small forward took an unofficial visit to see a UK home game a few days before that.

Huntington Prep will play two games at the Marshall County Hoop Fest in Benton, Ky., on Friday and Saturday.
