Highly touted power forward Harry Giles said Saturday that he would be in Chapel Hill for the game between Kentucky and North Carolina later in the day.
Giles — a 6-foot-9 prospect from Winston Salem, N.C. — is considered the No. 1 overall prospect in the Class of 2016 by Scout.com and 247Sports. He’s currently sidelined with a torn ACL suffered over the summer and is expected to miss his entire sophomore season.
Scout.com also ranks him as the No. 2 overall prospect in all of high school basketball, behind only Duke signee Jahlil Okafor.
Giles is one of three sophomores with a UK scholarship offer, and he took an unofficial visit to Lexington in October to attend Big Blue Madness. UK, North Carolina and Duke are considered the early favorites in his recruitment.
The UK-North Carolina game will be shown at 5:15 p.m. on ESPN.
