Amid rumors that he could switch his commitment from Ohio State to Kentucky, four-star offensive lineman Marcelys Jones tweeted Saturday night that he is solid to OSU.
“To kill the rumors I’m 100% Buckeye,” Jones said.
The 6-foot-3, 350-pounder took an official visit to Lexington last month and also signed financial aid papers with UK, which would allow him to enroll in the school for the spring semester. He signed the same papers with Ohio State, and his long-stated plan has been to arrive in Columbus for classes on Monday.
Rivals.com ranks Jones as the No. 11 senior prospect in Ohio and the ninth-best offensive guard in the Class of 2014.
He was in San Antonio this week for the Army All-American Bowl, where he was teammates with UK target Matt Elam. Two of Jones’ high school teammates — Marshon Lattimore and Erick Smith — committed to Ohio State during the game.
Elam was supposed to announce his college choice between Kentucky and Alabama, but postponed that decision until Feb. 5.
