CBS Sports is reporting that Vanderbilt Coach James Franklin will be hired as the next coach at Penn State.
That will likely help UK with a highly touted in-state recruit currently committed to the Commodores.
Seneca defensive end Lloyd Tubman has been committed to Vandy since last April, but he is scheduled to take an official visit to Kentucky next weekend. He’s also expected to visit Purdue before national signing day on Feb. 5.
247Sports ranks Tubman as a four-star prospect and the No. 220 overall recruit in the Class of 2014. That service pegs him as the No. 12 weakside defensive end in the senior class. He’s considered a three-star prospect by Rivals.com, Scout.com and ESPN.
Rivals has Tubman as the No. 4 player in the state of Kentucky, behind Drew Barker, Matt Elam and U of L commitment Reggie Bonnafon.
He’ll be a player to keep an eye on as UK looks to fill out its current recruiting class.
