Class of 2014 guard Rashad Vaughn will be the most immediate UK recruiting target on national television Monday, but several other high school stars will also play on ESPNU throughout the day.
Vaughn’s game at 11:30 a.m., starts off an ESPNU marathon from the Hoop Hall Classic in Springfield, Mass., that will include at least one other UK recruit and many of the top seniors in the country.
Duke signee Jahlil Okafor and Whitney Young (Ill.) will take on Oak Hill (Va.) at 1:30 p.m. Okafor is widely considered the No. 1 overall prospect in the Class of 2014.
At 3:30 p.m., Kansas signee Cliff Alexander and Curie (Ill.) face Montverde Academy (Fla.), which is ranked No. 1 in the country. Montverde’s roster includes Louisville native D’Angelo Russell, a five-star guard signed to Ohio State. One of Russell’s top teammates is Australia native Ben Simmons, who is considered one of the top 10 juniors in the country and his already committed to Louisiana State.
The final game of the day — at 5:30 p.m. — pits Mater Dei (Calif.) against Neumann-Goretti (Pa.). Arizona signee Stanley Johnson stars for Mater Dei. Class of 2016 center M.J. Cage also plays for Mater Dei. Cage — the son of former NBA standout Michael Cage — is one of only three sophomores with a scholarship offer from Kentucky.
