North Carolina power forward Harry Giles is still the No. 1 player in the Scout.com rankings for the Class of 2016.
The recruiting service extended its list for the sophomore class to 50 players on Wednesday. Giles, who has a UK offer, held on to the top spot despite being sidelined since the summer with a torn ACL. The 6-foot-9 prospect from High Point, N.C., also has offers from Duke, North Carolina and several others.
St. Louis wing Jayson Tatum moved up to the No. 2 spot in the new Scout rankings. Tatum also has an offer from Kentucky, and UK Coach John Calipari has already watched him play twice this season.
Giles and Tatum both took unofficial visits to Lexington for Big Blue Madness in October.
The other sophomore with a UK offer — California post player M.J. Cage — is No. 24 in the new rankings. The 6-9 prospect is the son of former NBA player Michael Cage.
UK has already expressed interest in several other players who made Scout.com’s Top 50, including Thon Maker (No. 3), Dedric Lawson (No. 5), Seventh Woods (No. 8), Derryck Thornton (No. 11), Josh Langford (No. 15) and Kobi Simmons (No. 19).
There were no Kentuckians listed in the updated rankings.
