Lafayette forward Jackson Davis received a scholarship offer from Alabama during Coach Anthony Grant’s in-home visit Monday night, according to his parents.
Grant “made an impression” on Davis during the visit, his father, Johnathon Davis told the Herald-Leader. Oklahoma State is planning an in-home visit for either Tuesday or Wednesday. Baylor and Virginia Tech also called the Davis family Monday to express interest in his recruitment.
Davis already had offers from Georgia, Vanderbilt, Florida State, Butler, Georgia Tech, Rice and UCF. Florida is among the other schools planning to see him play this week, but that visit might have to be postponed due to the recent winter weather in central Kentucky. Davis’ game — originally scheduled for Thursday night — will now be played Friday at 6:30 p.m. in Frankfort. Florida plays a home game against Kentucky at noon Saturday.
The 6-foot-8 prospect is one of the top available players in the Class of 2014. UK and Louisville have not made contact with Davis.
