Mark Stoops and his coaching staff are bringing highly touted football prospects to Kentucky at an unprecedented rate in the modern recruiting era.

To help you follow the UK football program’s off-field success, we’re excited to announce the launch of the Next Cats football recruiting website. For those of you familiar with our Next Cats basketball page, the concept is the same.

The new website will be updated several times a day to include original stories and blog posts on UK football recruiting, as well as links to the excellent coverage provided by other local media outlets. You will also find important links to football recruiting news related to the Southeastern Conference and UK’s biggest rivals.

One of the new site’s top features is the Class of 2015 targets page, which includes a chart of UK’s recruiting priorities with bio information, star rankings and more on each prospect. That page already includes information on nearly 90 UK recruiting targets, and it will also be updated regularly throughout the 2015 cycle. Once a player commits to the Wildcats, he will be added to the Class of 2015 commitments page.

Every page and blog post related to UK football will feature a sidebar that includes a list of the Cats’ commitments, links to team rankings, a Twitter feed that includes tweets from Rivals.com analysts and information on how to follow the UK coaches on Twitter.

The new focus on UK football recruiting will have zero impact on our basketball website. That site will continue to be updated several times a day with the latest news on Coach John Calipari’s top targets.

For UK fans who are interested in both sports, we’ll try to make it as simple as possible to navigate between the two pages. The football page will have a link to the basketball website at the very top of the links list. The basketball page will have a link to the football website in the same position. You can also use the information bar at the top of the website to navigate between pages and check out other Next Cats features.

As always, please let us know if you have any questions, comments or suggestions by emailing broberts@herald-leader.com. And don’t forget to follow @NextCats on Twitter for the latest UK recruiting news.

We hope you enjoy the new website.

  4. I love the excitement being generated by the football program but after this year’s basketball debacle and extreme hype only to be let down in gigantic proportions, I am done getting excited about anything to do with UK sports until I physically see a reason to be excited. I’m sorry but I don’t think I’m the only one who feels this way.
