Myles Turner — the top unsigned basketball player in the class of 2014 — announced his commitment to Texas on Wednesday.
Turner picked the Longhorns over Kansas, Southern Methodist and several other schools. He long listed UK among his top choices, but he never visited Lexington and the Wildcats were not among the finalists going into Wednesday’s announcement.
The 7-footer from Euless, Texas is considered a top-10 prospect by every major recruiting service, and Scout.com ranks him as the No. 2 overall player in the class.
UK has four McDonald’s All-Americans in its incoming recruiting class, which is ranked No. 2 behind Duke.
