Kentucky women’s basketball coach Matthew Mitchell picked up another commitment from Indiana on Wednesday night.
Sydney Shelton became the second player from the Hoosier State this week to announce her pledge to the Wildcats for 2016. Shelton, a 5-foot-8 prospect from Fortville, Ind., joins Lindsey Corsaro in UK’s class. Corsaro committed to Kentucky on Monday.
Kentucky Premier Coach David Tapley confirmed Shelton’s commitment to the Herald-Leader and said that she had received scholarship offers from Arkansas, Butler, Indiana, Michigan State, Purdue, St. John’s, Texas Christian and several others.
The All-Star Girls Report ranks Shelton as the No. 30 overall prospect in the class of 2016. The same recruiting service has Corsaro as the No. 26 player in the class.
Mitchell has two in-state commitments for the class of 2015: Bell County’s Maci Morris and Allen County-Scottsville’s Morgan Rich, who committed to the Cats last week.
