Devin Booker has chosen to wear No. 1 for Kentucky next season, he announced Thursday on Twitter.
Booker wore No. 2 for his high school and AAU teams, but that number will be taken by returning shooting guard Aaron Harrison.
James Young and Darius Miller are the two most recent players to wear No. 1 at Kentucky, and Booker mentioned both of them in his tweets Thursday.
Fellow freshmen Tyler Ulis (No. 3) and Trey Lyles (No. 41) will be free to wear their high school numbers, but Karl-Anthony Towns will have to find a new one. Towns was No. 44 in high school — the number worn by Dakari Johnson last season. Towns was No. 12 — which is available — for the Dominican national team.
