Indiana Coach Tom Crean was the first to reach out to St. Louis basketball star Jayson Tatum early Sunday, according to Scout.com’s Ben Weixlmann.
June 15 is the first day that college coaches are allowed to directly contact prospects who are entering their junior year of high school. Many top college coaches hit the phones at midnight to try to be the first to get a hold of their top recruiting targets.
Tatum — a 6-foot-7 wing — is one of three players from the class of 2016 with a UK scholarship offer. He is also considering Duke, North Carolina, Kansas and several others.
