UK Coach John Calipari arrived in Chicago on Thursday afternoon after spending the first couple of sessions of the July recruiting period at a Reebook event in Philadelphia.

Chicago is hosting the Adidas Unrivaled showcase that includes UK targets Jaylen Brown, Carlton Bragg, Brandon Ingram, Kobi Simmons and Eron Gordon. Brown and Bragg are two of UK’s top targets for the class of 2015. New UK assistant coach Barry Rohrssen accompanied Calipari to Chicago.

Meanwhile, UK assistant John Robic was at the ScoutsFocus Elite Camp in Greensboro, N.C., on Thursday to see power forward Harry Giles, who was considered the No. 1 overall prospect in the class of 2016 until suffering a serious knee injury last summer.

Giles missed his entire sophomore season but returned earlier this spring and is still regarded as one of the top five players in the class. The North Carolina native told recruiting analyst Rick Lewis at the event that his top five schools are Duke, Kentucky, North Carolina, Syracuse and Wake Forest. Lewis reported that Robic was the only coach from a high-major school who was there to see Giles.

Giles visited Lexington last October for Big Blue Madness.

Update: Giles tweeted later Thursday that he does not have a Top 5.

UK assistant coach Kenny Payne arrived in Las Vegas on Thursday for the LeBron James Skills Academy, which features many of the top Nike-affiliated players in the country.

Malik Newman, Cheick Diallo, Ivan Rabb, Stephen Zimmerman, Doral Moore, Montaque Gill-Caesar, Eric Davis, Jayson Tatum, Malik Monk, Dedric Lawson and Miles Bridges are the UK recruiting targets at the LeBron camp. UK commitment Charles Matthews is also competing there.
