CINCINNATI — Four-star offensive lineman George Brown announced his commitment to Florida on Friday, choosing the Gators over Kentucky in a recruitment that included more than 50 scholarship offers from all over the country.
Brown — a 6-foot-6, 267-pound prospect — is considered the No. 118 overall recruit in the class of 2015, according to Rivals.com. He would have been the highest-ranked commitment in UK’s class and the highest-ranked Rivals recruit to commit to UK under Coach Mark Stoops.
Brown had long been one of UK’s top recruiting targets, and the program was looking at him to round out its class of offensive linemen.
The Wildcats already have six O-linemen committed for next year, including four-star recruits George Asafo-Adjei and Luke Hiers. UK has 14 total commitments for 2015.
