Five-star forward V.J. King is the latest recipient of a Kentucky scholarship offer.
King — a 6-foot-6 prospect in the class of 2016 — is considered the No. 13 overall player in his class by Scout.com. He is currently participating in the Team USA under-17 squad tryouts in Colorado Springs, where he made the first cut Saturday.
UK Coach John Calipari attended Friday’s tryouts at the Team USA training complex. King played his first two years of high school at St. Vincent-St. Mary in Akron, Ohio (LeBron James’ alma mater), but is transferring to Paul VI in Fairfax, Va., for his junior season.
King also has offers from Louisville, Kansas, Ohio State, Arizona, Wisconsin and several others. He is the ninth player in the class of 2016 to earn a scholarship offer from Kentucky.
