Five-star shooting guard Tyus Battle made the first cut to his school list Monday morning, but he still has a long way to go before making a college decision.

Battle trimmed his list to 11 schools, including UK, Duke, Florida, Louisville, Miami, Michigan, Ohio State, Syracuse, UConn, Villanova and Virginia.

Scout.com considers Battle — a 6-foot-6 prospect — to be the No. 9 overall player in the class of 2016. He has visited UK twice in recent months, including a trip to Big Blue Madness in October. Coach John Calipari has been to his school multiple times since September.

According to New Jersey-based reporter Jeremy Schneider, the early leaders in Battle’s recruitment are Duke and Michigan. The 247Sports Crystal Ball gives Duke the edge.

  1. If Tyus Battle does not pick U.K. That will be the BIGGEST MISTAKE in his Young Career.
Pick U.K. Tyus you will not regret it, COACH CAL is hands down the best coach in college basketball and he will do the best job getting you ready for the N.B.A.
