Two UK men’s basketball signees and two women’s signees were among the high school players included on the Naismith All-America teams Tuesday.
Isaiah Briscoe earned the highest honor of those players as a second-team All-American. Skal Labissiere made the third team. UK women’s signees Maci Morris and Taylor Murray were both honorable mentions on the girls’ team. Morris (Bell County) joined honorable mention Erin Boley (Elizabethtown) as the only Kentuckians to make either team. Boley is committed to Notre Dame for the class of 2016.
UK recruiting targets Jaylen Brown and Malik Newman both made the Naismith boys’ first team, along with Florida State signee Dwayne Bacon, Louisiana State signee Ben Simmons and Arizona signee Allonzo Trier. UK targets Cheick Diallo, Ivan Rabb and Jayson Tatum joined Briscoe on the second team. Tatum — a St. Louis native — was the only junior on the top two teams.
UK targets Harry Giles and Josh Jackson — both juniors — joined Labissiere on the third team.
The boys’ honorable mentions included UK targets Malik Monk, Kobi Simmons, Caleb Swanigan and Stephen Zimmerman.
