Indiana basketball powerhouse La Lumiere has been added to the first Bluegrass National Championship tournament, it was announced Wednesday.
The event will be played in western Kentucky on March 23-25 and already included some of the best teams and players in the country. La Lumiere’s roster features Isaac Humphries, who arrived in the United States from Australia earlier this season and immediately attracted recruiting interest from Kentucky.
Duke, Arizona and Kansas are among the other top schools pursuing Humphries, a 7-footer in the class of 2016.
The Herald-Leader reported earlier this month that teams featuring Thon Maker and Josh Jackson would be in the event.
One more team will be added in the next few days, and a bracket for the tournament will be released after that.
The tournament begins March 23 with games at McCracken County High School, then moves to Marshall County High School for the semifinals and two consolation games March 24. The finals and another consolation game will be played March 25 at McCracken County.
Tickets can be purchased by calling Dan Hudson at (270) 293-9398, Jeff Stokes at Marshall County High School at (270) 527-6714 or Tim Stewart at McCracken County High School at (270) 994-6156.
