Many expected five-star power forward Ivan Rabb to announce his college commitment Saturday night. He did not.

Rabb made a free throw with less than a second left to lead Bishop O’Dowd to a 65-64 victory over Mater Dei in the California state championship game. He finished with 19 points and 20 rebounds.

It was expected that Rabb would announce his commitment — most likely to California — after the game. Instead, he remains an uncommitted prospect.

Arizona, Kentucky, Kansas and UCLA are the other schools in his final five, though it’s become clear in recent days that his recruitment is down to Cal and Arizona. Scout.com ranks him as the No. 5 overall player in the class of 2015.

It’s possible that Rabb could commit to a school sometime this week. He leaves Sunday for the McDonald’s All-American Game, which will be played Wednesday night in Chicago.

  1. I think Ivan is smart to wait at this point. Kentucky would be a great fit and great for his future NBA aspirations. It looks like at least 4 of UK’s players will be headed to the NBA, but who knows. At this point, it is better to wait and see who stays and who goes. Same for Cal and Arizona.
