Things often change fast in the world of basketball recruiting, and the latest shakeup could be a huge plus for Kentucky.

247Sports national analyst Jerry Meyer had predicted Oregon as the most likely destination for Canadian combo guard Jamal Murray for months. On Monday night, it was reported that Murray was on an official visit to Kentucky, and Meyer subsequently changed his “Crystal Ball” pick to UK.

Murray is considered the No. 9 overall prospect in the class of 2016 by 247Sports, but he is contemplating a move to 2015 that would allow him to play college basketball next season.

As of early Tuesday morning, UK held a 58-percent majority of the predictions on Murray’s Crystal Ball page.

  1. If #Kentucky signs #JamalMurray, yes we are going to be #1 once again. I’m going to sit back and watch every 2015 recruit that didn’t sign with #Kentucky, with the exception of Brandon Ingram, fail Miserably. I will watch #Kentucky once again make it to the final 4… I will especially watch SEVEN products of John Calipari enter the NBA coming up in the draft. I will watch MISSISSIPPI STATE get pounded by #Kentucky and I will watch Cal and Purdue and Kansas and Maryland NOT make it to the Sweet 16….

  2. UK can go to a three guard line-up with Murray and play fast-break basketball with lots of subs. Unless Willis steps-up, they have only three guys for the 4 and 5 and only one, AP is very physical. It will be interesting to see what Cal does with this group, but there should be lots of speed.

  3. Jamal should come to UK since the Coach has made it super clear winning and getting titles NOT the objective. Getting Jamal into the NBA job 1. Good for Jamal, BAD for fans.
Why Kentucky fans put up with this I will never know. 8 million dollar joke on UK. U of L looks smarter to me. DUKE brilliant.

  4. Yes Rodarius, what you say is true , but you left out the part where your boys fold up again.
