Five-star forward Wenyen Gabriel cut his list to five schools and scheduled an official visit to Kentucky on Wednesday.
Gabriel — a 6-foot-9 prospect from Manchester, N.H. — was one of the breakout stars of the summer basketball circuit and is now considered one of the top prospects in the class of 2016.
247Sports ranks him as the No. 22 overall player in the class.
Gabriel narrowed his list Wednesday to UK, Duke, Maryland, Providence and UConn. Several other schools offered him scholarships during the summer, including Kansas and North Carolina.
UK will host Gabriel for an official visit on Sept. 25. He has also scheduled official visits to Maryland for Sept. 4 and Duke for Oct. 15. The Blue Devils are the perceived favorite in his recruitment.
ESPN’s Adam Finkelstein first reported Gabriel’s new school list.
