UK Coach John Calipari was back at Westtown School (Pa.) on Friday afternoon to see Mohamed Bamba, the top uncommitted basketball recruit in the country.

Calipari also visited Bamba on Sept. 9, the first day of the fall recruiting period. The 7-footer from Harlem, N.Y., is ranked by Scout.com as the No. 2 overall prospect in the class of 2017. Other schools on his list include Duke, Harvard, Michigan, UConn, Texas and Syracuse.

With No. 1 recruit DeAndre Ayton’s recent commitment to Arizona, Bamba is now the top available recruit in the class of 2017. He is not expected to make a college decision until the spring.

The UK coach was at Westtown School on Friday for the team’s first open gym of the fall. Westtown’s roster also features five-star junior wing Cameron Reddish, who already has a scholarship offer from Kentucky and is one of the Wildcats’ top targets in the class of 2018.

Reddish — a 6-foot-6 prospect — is the No. 4 overall player in the Scout.com rankings for 2018.
